Oakland Public School Volunteers: Back-To-School Support!

For the 2022-2023 school year, Girl Geek X will be volunteering in service of public school students grades 6-12 and their teachers at Coliseum College Prep Academy (CCPA) in East Oakland.

On Friday, August 5, 2022 (1pm-4pm), CCPA school staff will be joined by Girl Geek X Community Volunteers to GET READY FOR BACK-TO-SCHOOL! This means classrooms and hallways have to be re-decorated, posters made, paper borders stapled up, supplies organized, etc.

CCPA has the highest college-going rate in the district despite being located in one of Oakland’s highest poverty neighborhoods.

Our partnership goal is to support students at Coliseum College Prep Academy (CCPA) in Oakland, CA by partnering on a variety of volunteer activities throughout the school year — from STEM and career topics, to field trips, mentorship & more! 

In-person volunteers are required to register and submit proof of vaccine ahead of service date with the Oakland Education Fund, a non-profit connecting groups with schools to make a positive impact on school culture and student achievement through relevant and meaningful volunteer projects.
