Tara is Corporate Vice President, Office Customer Success Engineering at Microsoft. Tara is directly responsible for test teams, test engineering, and operations in the Office Group. She has additional responsibility to drive engineering standards and methods with other leader-partners across the broader Microsoft community. Tara joined Microsoft in 1992 as a software test engineer for the Microsoft Project team. After six years, she moved to the test manager role for Microsoft FrontPage, which had been recently acquired. Her next role was to lead the SharePoint testing team. Tara joined the Office Shared team in 2006. Roth is also a member of the Microsoft Test Leadership team, where she has been able to drive companywide some of her personal passions around growing the senior individual contributor community of software design engineers in test (SDETs), improving the engineering efficiency of how Microsoft builds software, and rethinking the company’s engineering approaches for the software plus services world. Tara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. She spends her free time with her husband and two children and enjoys boating on the beautiful Pacific Northwest waters.”
