Nicole is an ex-physics-student-turned-software-developer interested in open source distributed computing technologies. She has been working as a data engineer at a large retail chain helping build out the core capabilities of their Hadoop cluster, and have fun thinking about both about the ins and outs of performance optimization, as well as the organizational challenges surrounding such an effort. She began her career as a junior consultant at ThoughtWorks in 2012.
