Ellen was the VP of Engineering Transformation in the Office of the CTO at Yahoo! and drove change in tools and processes across the Products organization. Ellen first came to Yahoo! in 2004 with the acquisition of Stata Labs. After a short stint in engineering, she built and ran Yahoo! Research Berkeley, an advanced development group working in the areas of mobile, social and video. She left Yahoo! in 2007 to return to the startup world and spent several years building and running a small venture firm doing seed level investing and startup incubation. Ellen started her career in tech as a developer, then she moved into engineering management. She has been the VP of Engineering in a number of large and small companies over her long career in the computer industry. She rejoined Yahoo! in January of 2011.
