Karna Nisewaner is vice president and deputy general counsel at Cadence, where she manages a capable and dynamic team of attorneys. Together they are responsible for a majority of the company’s legal functions, including IP, privacy, government and trade compliance, commercial transactions, and license compliance, while also supporting international operations, mergers and acquisitions, disclosure filings, and other projects. Prior to joining Cadence, she was a member of the Intellectual Property and Litigation team at Intuit. Before her position at Intuit, she spent four years with IBM software group. She began her career at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett, and Dunner, LLP in Palo Alto, CA, where her responsibilities included managing a complex patent portfolio. She currently serves on the board of the non-profit Palo Alto Community Child Care, is chair of the Addison Elementary School Site Council, and is the executive officer for Boy Scouts Pack 57.
