Oakland Public School Volunteer: Career Panel
Thank you for supporting the Girl Geek X adopt-a-school volunteer program.
We love our volunteers who joined a panel discussion on Friday, Nov. 12th (10am-12pm) to talk about careers in tech! (Details)
Volunteers are role models from the professional community for these CCPA high school students: 80% of the students will be accepted to a 4 year school with resources to attend. 83% of the students are Latinx, 12% Black or African American, 2% Asian, and 1% White.

CCPA is located on the Havenscourt Campus at the corner of 66th and International in Oakland. The address is 1390 66th Ave., Oakland, CA 94621. With the expansion of the school this year, the entrance has changed. The ONLY entrance is on the CORNER of 66th Ave and International. You will need to buzz in, due to security, and will need to let the front office know that you are here for the Career Panel moderated by Shannon LeCompte.

COVID Protocols:
The panel will take place in the school auditorium. All speakers will be provided with chairs and a microphone on stage. Please make sure to wear a mask at all times. The one exception would be drinking or eating outside. If you have any Covid like symptoms or have potentially been exposed, please stay home.
Parking Suggestions:
We recommend that you park in the alley between the baseball field and our small parking lot on 66th Ave. You are welcome to park on the school side of the buildings/fences BUT NOT the side of the fields. Street parking on 66th is also available.

Girl Geek X is a community that has grown to 40,000+ women in tech over a decade from Bay Area Girl Geek Dinners. At Girl Geek X events, women share thought leadership in STEM expertise, as well as career advice in the fast-paced tech industry – hosting over 250 dinners at over 150 tech companies and startups across the San Francisco Bay Area – and globally we host annual virtual conferences.
