Esther Sportello is a Digital Service Expert that has extensive experience driving product strategy, user experience, and innovation. She is currently serving at the U.S. Digital Service (USDS) within the Executive Office of the President. In this role, she is stationed at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) working on the modernization efforts surrounding disease surveillance for our nation.
Prior to civic tech, Esther spent 10 years in the private sector serving as the Head of People Technology at sweetgreen, where she was responsible for building intimacy at scale as they grew from a pre-IPO startup to a public company. Prior to that, she was a leader on Capital One’s Credit Card Acquisitions Platform responsible for expanding top of funnel growth and processing of tens of millions of credit card applications annually.
Esther earned her Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Delaware and sits on the Women In Product (R) Conference Selection Committee.
