Spandana Govindgari

Spandana Govindgari is a Staff Engineering Lead at Meta, where she helped build, launch and scale several payment experiences to support social commerce across Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook Shops and Marketplace helping process billions of dollars of TPV. She attended Cornell and previously worked at Apple and Snapchat, where she was the founding female engineer on the Payments team. She founded a venture-backed AR ad monetization startup, Hype AR. Her startup was featured on TechCrunch, Forbes and has been granted a patent for the novel technology of placing ads into a mixed reality environment. Outside of work, she actively advises and supports early-stage startups all across the globe and volunteers as speaker, hackathon judge, and mentor to women engineers and founders. Her active advisory and mentorship garnered her the Diversity and Culture Leadership Award by Empowered Women of the World (eWOW), an organization that recognizes and rewards female tech leaders advancing diversity in technology.
