Sheila Vida is a Security Customer Success Specialist from Cisco through the Duo Security acquisition. Four years ago, she broke into the cloud security industry with “zero” knowledge and now holds a principal role. Certifications was one way that helped her get a lay of the land, focus her learning efforts and effectively do her role to become a Trusted Advisor for her customers. She currently holds a CISSP, CCSP and cloud security fundamentals from multiple solutions.

She will discuss certifications that you get to apply to your role, or side projects, so the value “does not stop” after you pass the exam. She believes certifications are an excellent overview of industry jargon those breaking in to a new industry, and that certification is a common language that people in the same industry, so it's beneficial for a job search or industry networking.
