Ely

Ely (anything goes) has been a software engineer in Bloomberg’s San Francisco tech office since 2016. Before joining Cheryl’s team last year, Ely worked on an infrastructure team facilitating Bloomberg’s adoption of Apache Spark and related open source distributed systems technologies. Ely is on the global steering committee for BWIT Allyship, a grassroots initiative that empowers members to understand and address the systemic and cultural barriers faced by minorities in tech. Ely’s 2015 transition into tech was preceded by roles as a federal acquisition consultant, math and science teacher, and service monkey trainer. Ely holds a bachelor’s degree in peace and justice studies from Wellesley College.
