Rachana Kumar is a customer-oriented tech executive with a passion for leveraging technology to drive business success while making a positive global impact. As the former CTO of Etsy, a tech-forward e-commerce company, she spearheaded innovation and digital transformation.
Over the course of her decade-long tenure at Etsy, Rachana played a leading role in critical initiatives, such as launching Etsy’s product development principles, driving mobile and app penetration, and buyer growth. She played a pivotal role in Etsy’s growth from $500M to $13B in GM. Rachana also served as the Managing Director of Etsy Mexico, where she was responsible for opening the company’s Mexico City office. As CTO, she has spearheaded several initiatives, including the adoption of AI and GenAI.
Rachana’s experience spans multiple countries and industries, ranging from media and e-commerce in the US and India to international development in Cambodia. She is passionate about using technology for good and has worked with the UN, Council on Foreign Relations, and ran her own non-profit. She is an investor and advisor at tech several startups and non-profits.
