Clare Martorana

Clare is an industry leader in deploying innovative technology and human-centered design to create products, services, and experiences that improve people’s lives. She is currently Chief Information Officer of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and previously served on the U.S. Digital Service team at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to establish the agency’s enterprise-wide Digital Modernization effort giving Veterans the 21st century digital experience they deserve. Prior to her tour of duty in government, she was a President at Everyday Health (EVDY) and Senior Vice President and General Manager and editor-at-large at WebMD (WBMD). 

Throughout her career, she has worked to improve and simplify the digital experiences people have when interacting with businesses. As a federal agency CIO, she knows it is possible to balance federal mandates and deliver modern tools and services to improve our citizens’ customer experience when interacting with our government. Clare looks forward to working with stakeholders, industry partners, the CIO community, and federal IT workforce to ensure agencies are aware of the flexibilities available to provide continuous improvement in operations and service delivery for federal employees and the American people.
