Sara serves as Chief Product Officer, responsible for defining, developing and delivering Equinix’s industry-leading portfolio of products and services. She joined Equinix in 2012 and served for six years as Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for the company’s overall global brand development, market strategy, product and service portfolio, industry analysis, communications, solutions marketing and integrated demand generation. Sara brings to Equinix more than 25 years of strategic corporate experience, with a strong background in building and commercializing new services. She joined the company from Level 3 Communications, Inc., where she served in a variety of senior management positions, most recently as Senior Vice President of Voice Services. In this role, she was responsible for strategy, product management, pricing and commercial support, interconnection/regulatory policy, vendor management, network planning and operations for the $1b business unit. In addition to her career at Level 3, she also worked at PaineWebber Incorporated as Vice President of Principal Transactions where she invested proprietary private equity capital in the communications sector. Sara has been named Silicon Valley Business Journal’s CMO of the Year, and as one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Tech by the National Diversity Council. She holds a B.A. from Rice University and an M.B.A. from Harvard University Graduate School of Business.
